King, Editor Important Note! To access the books in the Right Hand margin along with the featured links, click on the printable version and they will all become live links. With this issue of the Internet Tips E-zine, I am going to share some of the TIPS from past issues as a reminder. We have already created 66 issues, so I thought it would be a good idea to share some of the top TIPS from previous issues. So here goes. TIP #1. Be sure to create and add signatures to your e-mails. Practically every e-mail program offers this feature. The great news is that you can set up more than one, be able to add the signature of your choice to new messages and another signature to replies, or pick a different one depending upon the recipient (s) of your e-mail. Include a descriptive title in the title bar of every page of your site. When you visit a website, look at the top blue bar, and you should see a title for the page. It is amazing to me how many websites have no title, or possibly just a company name. Besides letting visitors know where they are, this helps with search engines. Graphics that are large and/or not optimized - I love graphics (even fun clipart). The problem is that designers resize the graphic after it is already placed on a webpage. This means that the visitor has to wait for the large graphic to load and then be resized. They should be resized before being added to the page. Graphics should also be optimized for quick loading by lowering the resolution (quality) - good graphic software programs will perform this task easily.
Designate
a voice that will come from your organization. This
should typically be you, your top executive or someone designated
to be your companies "voice" with the public. Your ezine
will reflect the unique voice that this person has. This person
has a name, so be sure to include it in each ezine post. TIP #6. Learn how to create effective sales copy for your product(s). Create
a compelling headline.
Once an article, a graphic, and/or a photo appears in print, audio or a website, it is automatically copyrighted and the author owns it unless he or she has given permission or has signed the rights over to someone else.
